Project 365: May 28th through June 3rd

May 28th - Desert of yum! Patrick made this amazing lemon tart from scratch and a blackberry sauce using my homemade blackberry preserves for desert with Heidi, Rob, Mike, and Derek. May 29th - Vampire spiders! So the throat scratch is thanks to Yuki who loves leaving date rape scratches on me and Patrick. The two sets of red marks though are thanks to the spider. And these are them almost completely healed! May 30th - Gluing the magnetic strips onto my little containers to make my new spice rack. Labeling my new spice jars with my jam labels....good thing I stock up on them for making jams. May 31st - The new spice rack after Patrick screwed the metal to our kitchen wall. I was actually sort of amazed because I thought I had way more spices. The magnets are even strong enough (with some epoxy that is) to hold a full tin of Allspice Berries. June 1st - Hanging out with Amber Rose, Jen, Caroline, Jason, and Joe at the Fez for Decadent 80's. June 2nd - Beaverton Recycling Day - a long day unloading cars but feeling great afterwards. It was a little strange this year unloading cars with the mayor. June 3rd - Patrick made this happen. He completely refinished this gorgeous garden bench that Sean T Lewis gifted our yard a few years ago. It looks so lovely under the maple tree now.

Project 365: March 5th through March 11th

March 5th: Cheese selection...hunting down some decent Brie at Fred Meyer.


March 6th: Brandy and SKot over for dinner and games. You can see Patrick in the background with Gabriel. Desert - Lemon Chiffon Cake with Lemon Sauce and Strawberries.


March 7th: After learning I was hired for the job I wanted I went through my bags of work debris which were sitting in the corner of my office for the past seven months. Since I am leaving Wells Fargo after over ten years I was able to get rid of my pin collection.

March 8th: Macha busy at work on the dishes...


March 9th: I inherited a necklace from Melissa Hansson and changed out the pendant on it.


I also found piles of other fun stuff to make another necklace as well.


The base for my other necklace were these little pretties which I got off a dress I had.


March 10th: Stephanie and Cheryl over for dinner - we had some nibbles beforehand - brie and apples, bread, pomagranite, honeydew melon, salami, and two different types on almonds while all three on us had our own choice of wine.


March 11th: I was able to finally get a few days in weeding so the front looks much better.

A new year! Project 365 - January 1st through January 8th

January 1st - We went to Ben and Rachel's house for NYE and Ben lit this off to celebrate at midnight.


January 2nd - My new very hot shoes I managed to get at a great price.


January 3rd - Our cards finally stopped coming in...thank you so much everyone for thinking of us.


January 4th - Our wonderful new shelves in the living room.


January 5th - Reorganizing all of the Christmas decor.


January 6th - Taking down my tree ornaments.


January 7th - Post pedicures and manicures with Danelle.


January 8th - After midnight at Heidi's birthday party and the booze is still flowing.

Project 365: December 19th through December 25th

December 19th: Each year Christmas decorations get scarier every year such as this fine example from Fred Meyer of a wood carved squirrel made to look like pinecones.


December 20th: Our friend Dave gave us tickets to see the new Sherlock Holmes at Roseway Theater so voila!


After the movie we wandered to Voodoo Donut on our way home for some apple fritters.


December 21st: My creation for the season was this wreath I made from two berry garlands we never found uses for but have had for years now. I used a glue gun and added piles from my wreathing collection - plus it matches the theme of red and gold for my tree perfectly. Next year we are back to Patrick's blue and silver tree.


December 22nd: Karaoke fun at Noho's Hawaiian Restaurant hosted by Rocky and Susanne with Heidi, Kyle, Adam and Jason.


December 23rd:Walking through downtown to the Keller Auditorium for the Nutcracker by Oregon Ballet Theater.

December 24th: Christmas Eve dinner with Wendy and Brandt.


December 25th: Our Amaryllis bloomed just in time for Christmas!

Since we bought our house we have held a traditional potluck every year to celebrate the holidays and good cooking. We lovingly call it the Sugar Plum potluck and her are some pictures I snapped just before the party.

The best Christmas book ever which was given to me twice last year - no complaints!

The snack table: Summer sausage with smoked cheddar, blue corn chips with guac hummus and homemade blended salsa, chevre with Italian bread, Devil's food cookies and M&Ms peanut and M&Ms peanut butter.

We have started a small nutcracker collection which I want to start growing. I won the first one in a white elephant gift steal at work and the second was a present last year to Patrick from year - yes, it is a pirate.


And then I began working on the Yule bags I make for everyone. This pile is from trimming my bay laurel so I can put leaves in everyone's bags.

Project 365: November 28th through December 4th

November 28th: Running to Lloyd Center to get stuff for the costume contest Saturday.


November 28th: And another stop by John's Market where Patrick quickly discovers they have just about every beer on the planet.


November 29th: And finishing up the costume contest bags...


November 29th: Grabbing My Favorite Muffin for Lunch to do to bring to meet up with Ms Heidi


November 30th: The hallway of the building the hotline is in waiting for the elevator.


December 1st: KRAMPUS! Isn't he adorable?! I met Arun for dinner at Chez Machin forsome French cuisine and talk about both our events.


December 2nd: Finishing up posters for the event...


December 3rd: A very poor and dark camera phone shot of the Krampus costume designed by Sean and Shashonna -I seriously nearly cried when I saw the costume..it was THAT good.


December 4th: FRAMED! I picked up the art work for Patrick on the left like two years ago at the Halloween Bazaar and a year before that a coworker gifted him the lovely watercolor. I gave Patrick frames a few months ago which were perfect...except neither had mats but I FINALLY grabbed some on super sale at Fred Meyer so I got them both for like $5 total which is just amazing!
